What the fire in the High Fens teaches us about nature restoration and protection
Mid-August was a tense time at Athena Le Perron … Thick smoke from the large fire in the High Fens reached the campsite. We had to close temporarily. Fortunately, the site was spared from the flames, but the landscape’s vulnerability suddenly felt very real.

At a campsite, children get space and freedom, neighbors naturally keep an eye out, and phones sometimes disappear for hours. Journalist Sanne Blauw went exploring. Perfect for on the go — though we’d recommend sitting down to listen calmly at the campsite.
Near Mojácar in the Spanish province of Almería, the sun shines about three hundred days a year. Yolanda and Johan welcome up to six adult guests at a time in the charming villa where they live. They keep it deliberately small-scale and personalized. Time and genuine attention here are the greatest luxury.

For over thirty years, Richard and Martijn lived and worked on Gran Canaria. Together, they developed four naturist resorts, dedicating themselves around the clock. Martijn brought his business skills, Richard his technical expertise. A well-oiled machine. Sadly, Martijn passed away far too soon. His partner lovingly keeps their shared dream alive.
The workday started with brilliant weather, that twenty-sixth of September on Helios. Perhaps the sun god of the same name had a hand in it? In any case, the positive mood was set right away. There was plenty of pruning, sawing, tidying up, weeding, organizing, scrubbing, cooking, laughing … and celebrating in the evening.
